How to use this tool

These lessons build from the home row to full sentences. The aim is to find keys reliably without watching your hands, then gradually increase your pace.

  1. Rest the left hand on A S D F and the right on J K L ;. The bumps on F and J help you find the starting position.
  2. Choose Home row first, then work through the upper row, lower row, numbers and punctuation.
  3. Correct every character and finish with at least 90% accuracy to mark a lesson complete.

A short practice routine

Spend a few minutes on a row you find difficult, then try a full sentence. Return your fingers to the home row after each reach. Use a thumb for Space and the opposite hand for Shift. If your hands feel tense, stop and reset your position rather than chasing a faster score.

Practise the keys that need attention

The difficult-keys lesson uses mistakes recorded in this browser to choose practice characters. Before there is enough history it uses home-row letters. Correcting a mistake fixes the passage, but the original error remains in the accuracy count. For example, 95 correct attempts out of 100 gives 95% accuracy.

Common questions

Why is a finished lesson not marked complete?
The final text must match the lesson and accuracy must be at least 90%. Correcting every visible character alone does not erase mistakes made earlier.
Will my lesson progress follow me to another computer?
No. Completed lessons and difficult-key history stay in this browser. No account or online profile is created.
