How to play
Fit the falling shapes into complete horizontal rows. The landing outline shows where a piece will settle, and the next-piece preview lets you plan one move ahead.
- Press Play, then use Left and Right to position a piece and Up to rotate it.
- Use Down to lower it or Space to drop it immediately. The on-screen controls do the same jobs.
- Use C or Hold to keep a piece for later. You can hold only once before the current piece locks.
How rows earn points
At the opening level, clearing one, two, three or four rows at once earns 100, 300, 500 or 800 points respectively. The multiplier rises after each ten cleared rows. Lowering a piece manually adds one point per step; a hard drop adds two per step. Four rows at once are worth more than four separate single-row clears.
Keep the stack manageable
Look for covered holes before dropping a piece. A flat, low surface gives the next shape more places to fit. Hold can rescue a poor fit, but using it immediately every turn removes that option later. There is a brief adjustment window after landing; it is bounded, so repeated rotations cannot keep a piece suspended forever.

Common questions
- Why can I not use Hold twice?
- Hold becomes available again after a piece locks. This prevents repeatedly swapping pieces without placing one.
- Is this the official Tetris game?
- No. Falling Blocks is our browser implementation of the falling-block puzzle idea and is not affiliated with Tetris.
