Broadband Speed Test
Measure download, upload and HTTPS latency to this site using a bounded data test.

How to use this tool
This measures a short transfer between your browser and Mini Widgets on Cloudflare’s network. It is a test of that route at that moment, rather than your router’s sync speed or a guarantee from your provider.
- Choose a data budget. The test transfers generated data only after you press Start.
- Pause other downloads and keep the tab open. Note whether you are using Wi-Fi, Ethernet or a VPN.
- Compare download, upload and HTTPS latency. Repeat under similar conditions before drawing a conclusion.
Read the four measurements
Download and upload report throughput in megabits per second. HTTPS latency is the round-trip time of a small web request, so it is not an ICMP ping. Jitter is the average absolute difference between consecutive latency samples. A connection can have high throughput yet feel inconsistent if request timing varies a lot.
A small test has limits
A fast connection may use the budget before a long sample is possible; the result is then marked as a short sample. A larger budget allows more data but consumes more of a metered allowance. The budget limits generated payload, not request headers and other network overhead. No personal files are sent, and recent results stay on this device.
Compare conditions before blaming the line
Try the same device near the router, then compare a wired connection if available. A VPN changes the route, and another device downloading at the same time shares the bandwidth. The server path and browser also affect results. A single low reading cannot identify whether the cause is Wi-Fi, the provider or the destination.
Your progress and privacy
No account is needed. Personal bests, preferences and saved progress stay in this browser where supported. They do not sync between devices. Keyboard and mouse test events are never saved. You can clear saved activity from the home page; the privacy notice explains consent and measurement.
Common questions
- Does the test start automatically?
- No. You choose a budget and start it explicitly. Upload data is generated for the test and discarded by the server.
- Why does another speed-test site give a different number?
- It may use a different server location, number of connections, duration or measurement method. These results describe the route to this site.
