How to use this tool
Check the button and wheel events that reach your browser. The test separates left, middle and right presses and shows the interval between consecutive left clicks.
- Click inside the test area with each button you want to check.
- Focus that area, then scroll vertically or horizontally to inspect wheel events.
- Try an intentional double click, compare the counters and use Clear test before another attempt.
Click timing is evidence, not a diagnosis
A short gap between left clicks may be a deliberate double click or an unintended extra press. The browser’s double-click event also depends on the operating system’s settings. Repeat a controlled single click several times, then compare the behaviour in another application before deciding that a switch is faulty.
Understand wheel movement
Wheel events report horizontal and vertical changes, and the units may be pixels, lines or pages. Different mice and trackpads can produce different event counts for a similar gesture. The right-click menu is suppressed only within the test area, and wheel scrolling is captured only while that area has focus.
Your progress and privacy
No account is needed. Personal bests, preferences and saved progress stay in this browser where supported. They do not sync between devices. Keyboard and mouse test events are never saved. You can clear saved activity from the home page; the privacy notice explains consent and measurement.
Common questions
- Can this measure my mouse polling rate?
- No. Browser event scheduling is not a direct measurement of the hardware polling rate. This page checks buttons, wheel movement and click timing.
- Are my clicks saved?
- No. Counts and timing are kept only in the current page. Clear test or reload to reset them.
